Tehran: Iranian government spokesperson, Fatemeh Mohajerani, stated that her country's primary focus in the ongoing indirect negotiations with Washington is the effective removal of sanctions.
According to Qatar News Agency, Mohajerani emphasized during a press conference on Tuesday that while certain issues can be negotiated during the current talks, the transfer of Iranian-enriched uranium to a third-party country remains a red line for Iran. She highlighted that Iran's participation in these negotiations aims to secure relief from sanctions and enhance the quality of life for the Iranian people. Furthermore, she noted that expanding international cooperation could contribute to the stability of Iran's economy.
The US and Iran initiated indirect negotiations this month to establish a new agreement concerning Iran's nuclear program, following the US withdrawal from the previous deal in 2018. The first round of these talks took place in Oman on April 12, with a subsequent round in Italy on April 19.
