Baghdad: The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced today that Iraq has achieved self-sufficiency in liquefied gas and has begun exporting the surplus to foreign markets.
According to Qatar News Agency, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs in Iraq, Izzat Saber Ismail, stated that the country has reached self-sufficiency in liquefied gas. The daily production has surpassed 8,000 tons, enabling Iraq to export the excess to international markets. This development is part of broader efforts including the implementation of plans to increase the consumption of liquefied gas over liquid fuel across various sectors. These sectors include industrial, service, and residential projects, supported by investment initiatives.
