Baghdad: Deputy Oil Minister Ali Maarij stated that the ministry aims to increase oil production to around 7 million barrels per day over the next five years. Speaking at the Iraq Energy Conference on Tuesday, Maarij said that this goal is part of the ministry's strategy to boost production capacity and maximize the benefits from oil resources. According to Qatar News Agency, Maarij added that the ministry targets to treat associated gas to achieve a 0 percent flaring rate of natural gas, emphasizing that there is a plan to halt the import of oil derivatives in the near future, strengthening self-sufficiency in the oil sector.
