Baghdad: The Iraq Stock Exchange announced Sunday that more than 37 billion shares were traded during September, with a financial value amounting to 28 billion Iraqi dinars (IQD).
According to Qatar News Agency, a report issued by the Exchange indicated that 21 trading sessions were held last month, with 76 joint-stock companies out of 104 companies listed on the exchange. The report added that the number of shares traded reached 37,238,000,000 shares, with a financial value of IQD 28,097,479, executed through 16,903 transactions. The report also noted that the ISX60 index closed at 963.39 points.
It is worth noting that the Iraq Stock Exchange holds five trading sessions weekly and includes 104 listed Iraqi joint-stock companies representing sectors such as banking, telecommunications, industry, agriculture, insurance, financial investment, tourism, and hospitality.
