Doha: Iraqi security forces have arrested nine ISIS members in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate in the country's northeast. The arrests were carried out during a series of separate operations between April 1 and April 27.

According to Qatar News Agency, security sources reported that the suspects were apprehended following "precise tracking" and the identification of various insurgent locations. The operations highlight the ongoing efforts of Iraqi forces to dismantle remaining ISIS cells in the region.

Iraqi forces continue to conduct security operations to pursue ISIS cells, whose members still carry out attacks from time to time in different parts of Iraq, even though the Iraqi government announced in late 2017 that it had eliminated the organization.
