Iraqi Premier Discusses with UN Official End of UNAMI Mission

Baghdad: Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al Sudani, and United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Operational Support, Atul Khare, discussed the progress and arrangements pertaining to the end of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) mission in the country by August 2026. The Premier stressed Iraq's great interest in working with the UN, praising UNAMI's assistance to the Iraqi people from 2005 until today.

According to Qatar News Agency, the UN official highlighted that Iraq is currently experiencing an advanced level of security, openness, and urban development. Additionally, the country is solidifying its political stability, achieving positive economic growth, and ensuring successive and successful elections.
