Doha: Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid met on Saturday with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al Shaibani, currently visiting Baghdad, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries. The Iraqi Presidency stated that the meeting also touched on developments in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani, during his meeting with the Syrian Foreign Minister, emphasized Iraq's commitment to Syria's unity. The Syrian Foreign Minister began his visit to Iraq on Friday, holding discussions with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein on issues including trade exchange and other files.
