Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris discussed Friday with visiting Lebanese Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, enhancing cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, Harris said that his country had called, through international organizations and the European Union (EU), to pressure to stop the aggression on Lebanon, stressing the need to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701. He also strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), considering that "the cycle of violence in the Middle East has reached unacceptable levels, and the international community must exert additional and qualitative efforts to stop it." Lebanon has been subjected to an Israeli aggression since October 5, which has left thousands dead and wounded, and forced more than a million people to flee the south. Source: Qatar News Agency
