Gaza: The Israeli occupation forces arrested four Palestinian fishermen on Sunday while they were off the coast near Gaza Port, before detonating their boat in a new attack that adds to the ongoing violations against fishermen since the start of the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, local sources reported that the four fishermen were first arrested and then their boat was blown up on the shore. They noted that the Israeli occupation navy has killed around 230 fishermen since the beginning of the war, while 28 remain in Israeli detention.
The sources added that the occupation has prevented the entry of engines and fishing equipment into Gaza since the start of the aggression, effectively paralyzing this vital sector and depriving around 5,000 families, who rely on fishing as their primary source of income.
They also highlighted that the fishing sector suffers monthly losses estimated at around $5 million, with total losses exceeding $70 million since the start of the aggression, due to the systematic targeting of infrastructure, including ports, boats, and fishing equipment.
