The Israeli police announced, at dawn on Friday, in a statement that a powerful explosion occurred in a building in Tel Aviv before 3:00 a.m. The statement added that "a large number of police officers and explosives experts arrived at the scene and are dealing with the situation." The body of a man was found in a building near the site of the explosion, which occurred near the US embassy. The explosion also slightly injured seven people in central Tel Aviv, according to Israeli police, while the army said it was investigating a possible "air" attack. The military spokesman for the Houthis, the Ansar Allah group in Yemen, announced that "we carried out a qualitative operation targeting Tel Aviv." "Police forces arrived at the scene and are searching the area for suspicious objects," the Israeli police said in a statement, calling on "residents to respect safety instructions and not to approac h or touch debris or fragments that may contain explosives."
