Israeli Occupation Continues Aggression on Jenin, Its Camp for 99th Consecutive Day

Jenin: For the 99th consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces have continued their onslaught on Jenin city and its camps.

According to Qatar News Agency, Palestine's News Agency (WAFA) quoted Mayor of Jenin Mohammad Jarrar as saying that Israeli occupation forces commenced leveling operations in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin City early Tuesday morning, with operations still underway. Mayor Jarrar affirmed that the city has incurred substantial damage to its infrastructure and private property since the onset of the aggression, with estimated losses totaling approximately 300 million.

He further indicated that 800 housing units in the city have sustained partial damage, while 15 buildings have been demolished since the beginning of the offensive. The vast majority of the leveling operations have been concentrated in the eastern neighborhood and Al Hadaf Neighborhood. Israeli troops continue razing operations inside the camp after imposing restrictions on access, amid mounting fears that the forces have installed iron gates at the camp's entrances.

According to Jarrar, since the beginning of the aggression, 790 families have been forcibly displaced from the city, with 380 buildings evacuated in Jenin alone, as families were prevented from returning. Estimates indicate that the number of displaced individuals from Jenin and the camp has risen to 22,000. He also addressed the economic situation in Jenin amid the unrelenting aggression, affirming that the city has sustained massive economic losses, with some areas, particularly in the western neighborhoods, rendered almost entirely crippled economically.
