Gaza: The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have reportedly killed at least 51,000 Palestinian civilians and injured approximately 116,343 others since the onset of what has been described as genocide against the Gaza Strip beginning in October 2023.
According to Qatar News Agency, Wafa news agency cited medical sources reporting that out of the significant death toll, 1,630 individuals were killed, and 4,302 were wounded since March 18 alone.
Wafa further indicated that in the past 24 hours, at least 17 people were killed, and 69 others were wounded and taken to hospitals in the Gaza Strip. The report also highlighted the plight of many victims who remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings and scattered across streets, with rescue efforts hampered by inadequate resources.
The escalation on March 18 marked the end of a two-month ceasefire that began on January 19. During this period, the Israeli occupation forces allegedly breached the ceasefire terms multiple times by continuing airstrikes in Gaza, resulting in further casualties. The refusal to adhere to agreed humanitarian protocols and the imposition of a stricter blockade have worsened the humanitarian situation in the region.
