Israeli Occupation Police Arrest 40 Workers from Occupied West Bank

Al-Tira: The Israeli occupation police arrested 40 workers from the occupied West Bank on Tuesday while they were staying in the city of Al-Tira in the Triangle area inside the 1948 territories. The arrests were made under the pretext of "residing without permits" after the workers entered the area in search of employment.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Palestinian News Agency reported that hundreds of Palestinian workers have faced arrest and abuse by the occupation police in recent weeks due to not having permits for entry or residence in the 1948 territories.

Palestinian workers who do have permits face challenges as well. Their workday often begins before dawn, involving long waits at military checkpoints where they undergo inspections before continuing to their workplaces.

Reports indicate that approximately 150,000 workers from the occupied West Bank have lost jobs in the 1948 territories due to restrictions imposed by the occupation. These restrictions have been in place since October 2023, as highlighted in a World Bank report.
