Gaza: The death toll from Israel's military offensive on the Gaza Strip has risen to 70,942 people killed and 171,195 injured since Oct. 7, 2023.
According to Qatar News Agency, Gaza's Health Ministry reported in its daily statistical update that hospitals across the enclave received five fatalities over the past 24 hours. These include one newly reported death and four bodies recovered from beneath the rubble, as well as three individuals wounded.
Several victims remain trapped under the rubble and on streets, currently beyond the reach of medics and civil defense rescuers. The report highlighted that the total number of fatalities since the ceasefire signing on Oct. 11 has reached 406, with injuries totaling 1,118.
The ministry also noted one fatality due to a building collapse, raising the total number of building-collapse victims linked to cold snaps to 16 cases.
The ceasefire between the Hamas movement and Israel took effect on Oct. 10, following the withdrawal of the occupation army from sites and densely populated areas of the enclave. Displaced residents have been moving into the north of the Strip as part of the initial phase of US President Donald Trump's initiative to end the war on Gaza.
