Doha: The ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals - Doha 2025 wrapped up on Sunday. HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE President of the International Olympic Committee Dr. Thomas Bach, and President of the International Table Tennis Federation Petra Sorling attended the final day's action, along with dignitaries and senior representatives from across Asia and beyond.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ninth and final day featured four finals across the men's and women's singles and doubles categories. In the Men's Singles, World No. 2 Wang Chuqin of China claimed the title after defeating World No. 3 Hugo Calderano of Brazil 4-1, securing the gold medal and championship trophy. Calderano took silver, while China's Liang Jingkun and Sweden's Truls Moregardh shared the bronze. This win marked Wang Chuqin's eighth major career title.

In the Women's Singles, Olympic champion and World No. 1 Sun Yingsha successfully defended her title by defeating compatriot and World No. 2 Wang Manyu 4-3. Yingsha won the gold medal and championship trophy, while Manyu took silver. The bronze medals were awarded to Japan's Mima Ito and China's Chen Xingtong. Sun Yingsha celebrated her eighth career World Championship title with this victory.

In the Men's Doubles, the Japanese duo of Hiroto Shinozuka and Shunsuke Togami, ranked No. 2 globally, won the title after defeating the sixth-ranked Chinese Taipei pair Chen Chien-An and Lin Yun-Ju 3-2. The Japanese team secured gold, while the Chinese Taipei pair earned silver. Bronze medals were shared by two French duos: Florian Bourrassaud and Esteban Dorr, and Felix and Alexis Lebrun.

In the Women's Doubles, the Chinese pair Wang Manyu and Chen Meng, ranked second worldwide, claimed the title after defeating Austria's Sofia Polcanova and Romania's Bernadette Szocs 3-0. The Chinese duo took gold, while the Austrian-Romanian pair received silver. Bronze medals went to Japan's Miwa Harimoto and Miyuu Kihara, and South Korea's Shin Yubin and Ryu Hanna.

The championship concluded with HE Secretary General of QOC and Vice President of the Doha 2025 Organizing Committee Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, alongside HE President of the International Olympic Committee Dr. Thomas Bach, Tournament Director Khalil Al Mohannadi, and President of the International Table Tennis Federation Petra Sorling, awarding the winners. Khalil Al Mohannadi and Petra Sorling handed over the World Table Tennis Championship flag to Chair of Table Tennis England Clare Briegal, as England will host the next edition in 2026.

On Saturday, the Chinese duo Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha were crowned champions of the mixed doubles event, defeating the Japanese pair Maharu Yoshimura and Satsuki Odo 3-1. China dominated the championships, winning four out of five titles, with Japan securing the men's doubles title.

World No. 2 Wang Chuqin expressed his delight after winning the men's singles title and the mixed doubles title with teammate Sun Yingsha. He described the World Championship as a marathon, requiring focus and perseverance. Sun Yingsha, the world's top-ranked player, shared her happiness after her victories, emphasizing the motivation this title provides for future competitions.
