Japan and Korea Secure Victories in AFC U23 Asian Cup

Riyadh: Japan moved within touching distance of the knockout stage after powering to a 3-0 win over United Arab Emirates in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 Group B tie on Saturday. Goals from Brian Nwadik, Yuto Ozeki, and Shusuke Furuya secured the defending champions their second victory, while UAE stayed rooted on three points following the defeat.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a Group C match, an indomitable Korea Republic came from behind twice to beat Lebanon 4-2. Lee Hyun-young, Dong-Jae-sang, Kang Seung-jin, and Kim Tae-won scored for South Korea, while Lebanon's goals were scored by Leonardo Chahine and Ali Al-Fadl.

South Korea temporarily moved to the top of the group standings with four points, pending the completion of the other matches in this round, while Lebanon remained without any points.
