Japan’s Ambassador to Qatar Highlights Strategic Partnership on Qatar National Day

Doha: HE Ambassador of Japan to the State of Qatar Naoto Hisajima emphasized that Qatar's National Day serves as a testament to the pioneering spirit instilled by the nation's founders and the comprehensive development outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030. He extended his congratulations to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and the Qatari people on this occasion.

According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency praised Qatar's diplomatic approach, valuing its respected and indispensable political strategy in today's complex geopolitical landscape. He noted that Qatar's mediation-oriented diplomacy, embedded in its constitution, allows it to act as a neutral and trusted bridge between parties, fostering regional and international stability.

HE the Ambassador lauded Qatar's successful mediation and conflict resolution efforts, highlighting its involvement in the US-Taliban talks and its recent role in the Gaza conflict. He expressed Japan's appreciation for Qatar's commitment to peace and stability, acknowledging the strategic partnership between the two nations founded on shared humanitarian and development goals.

He admired Qatar's ability to balance modernity with tradition, drawing parallels with Japan's own experience. He pointed out similarities in areas such as security, cleanliness, urban planning, and infrastructure development, praising the progress of projects like the Doha Metro and Hamad International Airport, which enhance Qatar's global connectivity.

His Excellency commended Qatar's advancements in human resource development, knowledge-based economy, and health and social services, noting their contribution to improving quality of life and supporting future generations. In the energy sector, he affirmed Qatar's reliability as a partner for Japan, particularly in providing a stable supply of LNG, while also recognizing Qatar's economic diversification efforts.

Discussing bilateral relations, HE the Ambassador noted the evolution of Qatar and Japan's partnership since 1972 into a strategic alliance, marked by high-level dialogues and a commitment to expanding cooperation beyond economics. He concluded by highlighting Qatar's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, where its pavilion attracted over two million visitors, showcasing its culture and vision.
