Tokyo: Japan's Nikkei Stock Average experienced a minor decline, dropping 44.19 points, or 0.11%, to close at 39,774.92. Meanwhile, the broader Topix index showed a marginal increase, finishing 1.71 points, or 0.06%, higher at 2,836.19.

According to Qatar News Agency, the currency market saw the US dollar strengthen against the Japanese yen, appreciating by approximately 0.32% to reach 147.87 yen during morning trading. Additionally, the yield on 10-year Japanese government bonds decreased by more than one basis point, settling at 1.509%.
