The Joint Arab Economic Report 2020 was released on Monday at the headquarters of the League of Arab States' General Secretariat with the participation of the State of Qatar.
HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the Arab League Ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al Sahlawi delivered a speech at the beginning of the ceremony, as the State of Qatar currently chairs the Council of the Arab League. In his speech, HE affirmed that the release of the 'Joint Arab Economic Report for 2020' is the result of an appreciable and remarkable effort by all parties involved in preparing this report, which represents a great addition to those interested in the economies of Arab countries, whether they are regional and international organizations or academics and researchers.
HE the Ambassador explained that the Joint Arab Economic Report, which is one of the fruits of joint Arab action, provides a description of the Arab economic reality in a scientific and objective manner that qualifies it to be one of the focal points in following up on the developments of the Arab economy and an important factor in formulating development policies and plans aimed at achieving development and stability for the Arab people.
At the end of his speech, HE the Ambassador expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to all those responsible for issuing this report, wishing that all joint Arab efforts be crowned with success, in a way that contributes to the advancement and well-being of the Arab people.
For his part, Secretary General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit affirmed that the joint Arab Economic Report is not satisfied with accurate and audited data and statistics only, but rather goes beyond them to provide a comprehensive vision and an integrated analysis of the economic situation in the Arab countries, with a valuable view of the global economy and some useful experiences at the international level, which are needed by the Arab decision-maker, as well as the researcher and the opinion maker.
