Amman: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi engaged in a phone conversation with Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), to deliberate on regional and international support efforts for the agency. The discussion focused on enabling UNRWA to continue its essential services to Palestinian refugees across its five areas of operation.
According to Qatar News Agency, both officials underscored the significance of the UN General Assembly resolution that endorses the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice. This opinion delineates the obligations of the Israeli entity, as the occupying power, concerning the presence and activities of the United Nations and international organizations within the occupied Palestinian territories. The resolution also emphasizes facilitating aid and relief programs, including those provided by UNRWA, and ensuring these efforts are not hindered.
