Jordanian Foreign Minister and US Envoy Discuss Aleppo Developments

Doha: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met with US Special Envoy for Syria, Thomas Barrack, who is currently visiting Jordan, to discuss the latest developments in Syria and ways to support the Syrian government and its efforts to ensure Syria's security, sovereignty, unity, and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, Safadi and Barrack also discussed the situation in Aleppo. They affirmed Jordan's and the United States' commitment to supporting efforts aimed at consolidating the ceasefire, ensuring the peaceful withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from Aleppo, and guaranteeing the safety and security of all civilians. They also stressed the need for the immediate implementation of the March 10, 2025, agreement, which the Syrian government and the SDF had previously committed to.

Safadi and Barrack affirmed their continued joint work on implementing the roadmap for ending the crisis in Suwaida and stabilizing southern Syria, which was approved in Syria on September 16, 2025.
