Doha: June 02 - The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) announced the top three winners in the 3rd Katara Prize for Arabic Poetry (Mothers of the Believers), may Allah be pleased with them, held under the topic of Hafsa bint Umar, may Allah be pleased with her. Taimor Al Azany from Yemen won first place, Saddam Bouaziz from Algeria won second place, and Ahmed Al Najjar from Yemen won third place. The 3rd Katara Prize for Arabic Poetry aims to raise the awareness of young and future generations about the members of Prophet Mohammed's family, especially the Mothers of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with them. The Prize also aims to highlight their impact on the unfolding of Islam, and the role of women in society, as well as present the history of the Mothers of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with them, through literature and art. The 3rd Katara Prize for Arabic Poetry had about 289 entries from 16 Arab and foreign countries. Source: Qatar News Agency
