Katara: Katara hosted a forum on the cultural dimension of sports, tourism, and media. The forum was organized in cooperation with the Arab Federation for Sports Tourism and the Gulf Association for Tourism Media. According to Qatar News Agency, the forum included a panel discussion with the participation of officials, experts, and media professionals from Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the Sultanate of Oman. The discussion focused on promoting a sustainable Arab approach to strengthen the link between sports, tourism, the economy, and media through themes such as hospitality, cultural identity, training and capacity building, and sports and tourism media. Several figures and participants in the forum were honored. Dr. Nadia Al Mudhahka, Director of the Research and Studies Department at Katara, delivered the opening address for the General Cultural Village Foundation. She emphasized Katara's vision that culture is a vibrant force uniting sports, media, and tourism, contributing to shaping identity and building the mental image of nations. HE Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of Retaj Hotels and Hospitality Group, Sheikh Nayef bin Eid Al-Thani, noted that the forum reflects a deep vision and partnerships during a significant time. He emphasized Qatar's investment in sports, culture, and media as an investment in people, identity, and soft power, leading to a system that combines professional organization and cultural openness while maintaining pride in Arab identity. Fatma Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Communications and Media at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, stated that the forum is timely as the Arab region undergoes a transformation in the sports industry. She highlighted the Qatari model's global nature and its use of sporting events as tools for sustainable development and tourism attraction. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Executive Office of the Forum of Specialized Arab Federations at the League of Arab States, highlighted Qatar' s pioneering support for Arab and international sports. He stated that Qatar's model uses sports as a bridge for communication and a tool to support tourism and stimulate the economy. President of the Arab Federation for Sports Tourism, Kamel Abu Ali, praised Qatar's adherence to global professional standards in organizing major sporting events. Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Sports Tourism, Dr. Sultan bin Khamis Al Yahyai, also commended Qatar's success in hosting major events, emphasizing the country's vision, infrastructure, and organizational expertise that have made it a global model. Dr. Al Yahyai noted that Qatar's hosting of the forum demonstrates an informed Arab awareness of sports tourism as a development pathway linking culture, sports, and tourism.
