Doha: Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) inaugurated the Jeju Haenyeo Exhibition, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. The event marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Korea and is set to run through November 25. According to Qatar News Agency, the opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including HE Director of the National Museum of Qatar Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Doha Yun Hyunsoo, and Katara Deputy General Manager Saif Saad Al Dosari. Numerous ambassadors accredited to the State of Qatar were also present, highlighting the significance of the event in fostering international cultural ties. The exhibition features a collection of 32 paintings that capture the unique connection between Korea's haenyeo, or female divers, and the world's seas. These artworks provide insight into the lives and traditions of the haenyeo, emphasizing their end uring relationship with the marine environment.
