Katara’s National Day Celebrations Highlight Cultural Heritage and International Achievements

Doha: General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, has announced a comprehensive lineup of events for this year's National Day celebrations. The program includes national military, heritage, and artistic performances, alongside activities for children and families, all designed to foster national pride and joy.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Al Sulaiti emphasized that the cultural program features a Qatari fine arts exhibition showcasing contemporary works that reflect Qatari identity and creativity. Highlights include the traditional performance "Al-Ardah Al-Qatariyah," which celebrates national heritage. Katara collaborates with various cultural entities, such as the Qatari Society of Al Gannas and the Al-Galayel Championship, to promote traditional falconry practices. The events also tie in with the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, offering exhibitions like the Hindam exhibition of traditional attire and the Dallah exhibition as a symbol of hospitality.

Dr. Al Sulaiti underscored Katara's role in Qatar's cultural development, noting the country's progress under wise leadership. In 2025, Katara continues to enrich the cultural landscape through intellectual conferences, art exhibitions, and literary forums attracting prominent figures from Qatar and beyond. The Foundation's international partnerships have established it as a vital bridge for cross-cultural dialogue, enhancing its status as a cultural icon in the region.

He further highlighted Katara's achievements that align with the Qatar National Vision 2030, emphasizing culture as a cornerstone of sustainable development. Katara has become a global creativity hub, drawing intellectuals and artists worldwide. Significant achievements include the Katara Prize for Arabic Novel and recognition as the "City of the Arabic Novel" by ALECSO, acknowledging its support for Arabic literature. Katara is also honored as the Cultural Heritage City of Arabian Horses.

Dr. Al Sulaiti announced that Katara received the Babylon International Award in Baghdad for its creative leadership regionally. December will mark the launch of the Katara Arab Opera Festival, with ALECSO recognizing Katara as the "City of Arab Opera," further cementing its cultural and artistic influence both regionally and internationally.

He concluded by affirming that Katara's achievements reflect its strategic vision of becoming a global platform for creativity, a source of national pride, and a key pillar in realizing the cultural and intellectual goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
