Moscow: The Kremlin has stated that an alleged Ukrainian drone attack targeting a residence in the Novgorod region, used by President Vladimir Putin, was an attempt to disrupt ongoing negotiations rather than a direct attack on the Russian leader.
According to Qatar News Agency, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on Tuesday that the incident should be viewed as an effort to undermine dialogue efforts, especially those involving the United States. Peskov emphasized that Russia remains committed to negotiations and will not be deterred by the incident, affirming that Moscow will persist in its pursuit of talks and dialogue. He also mentioned that the Russian military is aware of how and when to respond to the situation, while accusing Kyiv of denying responsibility for the attack.
Ukraine has firmly rejected these accusations. On Monday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy refuted Russia's claims, calling them another round of lies intended to justify further attacks on Ukraine and extend the conflict.
