Kuwait Denounces Israeli Assault on Qatar at UN Human Rights Council

Geneva: The State of Kuwait reiterated its strong condemnation and denunciation of the brutal and cowardly Israeli aggression that targeted residential headquarters of several Hamas leaders in Doha on Sep. 9. This statement was made during Kuwait's address to the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) on Tuesday, during an emergency session focused on the Israeli aggression against Qatar. The session was called for by Kuwait on behalf of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Pakistan on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation as part of the 60th session of the Council held in Geneva.

According to Qatar News Agency, Kuwait stressed that the attack was a blatant violation of all international laws and norms. The aggression was described as a serious threat to the region's security and stability and an undermining of international peace and security.

Kuwait affirmed its unwavering support for Qatar in measures to preserve its security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents. Kuwait's statement also reiterated its call for the United Nations and the international community to assume their responsibilities in preserving international peace and security. It urged them to take serious and effective steps to halt Israel's systematic aggression against countries in the region and to hold the perpetrators accountable for crimes against unarmed civilians.
