Kuwait Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting Joint Action Mechanisms Within OPEC+

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Minister of Oil Tariq Al Roumi affirmed on Sunday Kuwait's commitment to supporting mechanisms of joint action within the OPEC+ alliance and to contributing actively to discussions aimed at achieving a sustainable balance in the oil market, in line with global supply and demand indicators.

According to Qatar News Agency, the remarks came in a statement by Minister Al Roumi following his chairing of Kuwait's delegation to the meeting of the eight countries participating in the agreement on the gradual exit from voluntary oil production cuts, as well as the meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC), both held via videoconference as part of the OPEC+ framework.

He noted that the meetings were convened as part of regular follow-up on oil market developments, a review of production levels, and an assessment of compliance with approved agreements, to strengthen market stability and ensure supply security during the current phase.

Earlier, the eight countries agreed to maintain production levels for March 2026, with Kuwait's production set at 2.58 million barrels per day, in accordance with the implementation of the exit pathway from the voluntary oil production cut agreement.
