KUWAIT CITY: The Kuwait Stock Exchange closed lower on Monday with its general index dropping by 53.03 points, or 0.70 percent, to reach 7,534.86 points.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the session, 375.2 million shares were traded across 28,128 cash transactions, with a total value of KD 115.6 million (approximately $354.8 million). The main market index fell by 68.93 points, or 0.98 percent, to settle at 6,944.30 points, with 134.8 million shares changing hands through 9,927 cash transactions valued at KD 17 million (approximately $52.19 million).
Meanwhile, the first market index declined by 51.68 points, or 0.64 percent, to reach 8,054.40 points, with 240.4 million shares traded through 18,201 transactions worth KD 98.6 million (about $302.7 million). Additionally, the "Prime 50" index dropped by 51.48 points, or 0.77 percent, to close at 6,604.90 points, with 115.13 million shares exchanged through 8,579 cash transactions valued at KD 14.3 million (about $43.9 million).
