La Liga: Barcelona Defeats Osasuna to Extend Lead

Barcelona: FC Barcelona pulled further ahead at the top of the Spanish La Liga table after defeating visiting Osasuna 2-0 on Saturday evening at the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona as part of the sixteenth round of the competition.

According to Qatar News Agency, Barcelona owes its victory to its Brazilian player Raphinha, who scored both goals in the 70th and 86th minutes.

With their 14th victory of the season, against one draw and two losses, Barcelona raised their points total to 43 points in first place. This puts them seven points ahead of their traditional rivals, Real Madrid, who sit in second place and are scheduled to face Alav©s on Sunday, in the same round.

On the other side, Osasuna suffered its ninth defeat of the season, against four wins and three draws. Their points total remains at 15 points in sixteenth place, where they sit ahead of the relegation zone only on goal difference.

Two other matches in the same round were also played this evening: Atl©tico Madrid defeated visiting Valencia 2-1, and Mallorca beat Elche 3-1.
