Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reiterated his country's readiness for dialogue with the United States. In remarks today, Lavrov stressed that Russia is not the one who severed its relations with the US, stating that any proposal for resuming ties should not come from Russia. He emphasized Russia's willingness to engage in discussions without any unilateral demands, aiming to assess the current status and explore future steps. According to Qatar News Agency, Lavrov commented on the potential for engagement with the incoming US President Donald Trump's team, highlighting that Russia has always been open to discussions rather than isolation. He expressed confidence that the new US administration would appoint an ambassador to Russia, assuring that Moscow would not obstruct the process. Lavrov also mentioned that the selection process for a new Russian ambassador to the US is proceeding through standard procedures, indicating normal diplomatic operations despite the current state of relations.
