Lebanese and Italian Defense Ministers Focus on Security and Support in Southern Lebanon

Beirut: Lebanese Defense Minister Major General Michel Menassah and his Italian counterpart Guido Crosetto, who is visiting Beirut, discussed on Monday the general situation in Lebanon, particularly in the south. The Lebanese Defense Minister appreciated Italy's support to his country, especially in logistical, medical, and training aspects. He also noted Italy's chairmanship of the Military Technical Committee for Lebanon (MTC4L) and the vital role it plays in this regard.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Italian Defense Minister affirmed his country's unwavering commitment to supporting the Lebanese Armed Forces, both directly and through the Italian contingent serving with UNIFIL. He considered this support a crucial step not only for strengthening the presence of legitimate forces in the south but also for consolidating security and stability in the region as a whole.
