Lebanese Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdallah Bou Habib and his Danish counterpart Lars Lokke Rasmussen discussed the situation in the south of Lebanon in a phone conversation held on Saturday. During the call, Minister Bou Habib reiterated the need for "The full and comprehensive implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701." He added, "Implementing all UN resolutions in the region would end the cycle of periodic wars and build for lasting peace," explaining that "Military options would lead to a radical escalation of the conflict." In turn, Rasmussen expressed his country's support for "the Lebanese government's stance and Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity," highlighting that it is in the interest of all countries that international legitimacy is respected "to preserve international peace and security."
