Liverpool: Liverpool and Chelsea returned to winning ways in the English Premier League on Saturday, defeating Brighton and Everton, respectively, in the 16th round of the season.
According to Qatar News Agency, at Anfield, defending champion Liverpool beat visiting Brighton 2-0. French striker Hugo Ekitike was instrumental, scoring in the 1st and 60th minutes. This victory earned Liverpool three valuable points and ended a run of two consecutive draws. As a result of the win, Liverpool moved to 26 points, temporarily holding sixth place in the standings, with a record of eight victories and six losses. Brighton remained ninth with 23 points.
In the second match at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea secured its first victory in four games with a 2-0 win over Everton. The goals came from Cole Palmer in the 21st minute and Malo Gusto in first-half stoppage time (45+1), snapping a four-match winless streak. With this win, Chelsea climbed to fourth place, temporarily, with 28 points, while Everton stayed eighth on 24 points.
