London: London is preparing to bid to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships. A partnership between UK Athletics (UKA), the Great Run Company, and London Marathon Events has completed a feasibility study in preparation for submitting a formal expression of interest to the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) in September.

According to Qatar News Agency, the bid hinges on securing GBP45 million (USD59 million) in government support and aims to bring the championships back to London for the first time since the crowd-pulling 2017 edition. The 2029 event is expected to have an economic and social benefit of over GBP400 million.
