Marseille: Olympique de Marseille temporarily moved to the top of the French football league standings after securing a dominant 3-0 victory over hosts Metz on Saturday as part of the seventh round of the competition.
According to Qatar News Agency, the three goals were scored by Brazil's Igor Paixao, England's Matthew O'Riley, and Algeria's Amine Gouiri in the 51st, 69th, and 76th minutes, respectively.
This marks Marseille's fourth consecutive victory and fifth win this season against two losses, raising their total to 15 points atop the overall standings on goal differential. They currently sit ahead of the previous leaders, defending champion Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon, both of whom will play their matches Sunday against Lille and Toulouse, respectively.
