Doha: HE President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani has made a strong statement regarding recent Israeli actions against Qatar. He described these actions as a continuation of aggressive policies by the Israeli occupation, violating state sovereignty and undermining efforts towards achieving a just peace.
According to Qatar News Agency, President El Ghazouani, speaking at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, expressed Mauritania's strongest condemnation of the Israeli aggression. He affirmed Mauritania's full solidarity with Qatar, emphasizing that any threat to Qatar's security is a threat to Arab and Muslim collective security. He warned that any infringement on Qatar's sovereignty represents a serious provocation.
He further explained that the attack on Qatar signifies a dangerous escalation, indicating a lack of political will for peace from Israel. This, he noted, highlights Israel's persistent determination to continue aggressive actions.
President El Ghazouani also cautioned that Israel's current actions pose a threat to regional and international peace and security, undermining stability and disrupting international security frameworks. He urged for regional solidarity to protect collective security and stability, advocating for a unified stance to influence events.
He stressed the importance of addressing escalation with a serious, collective position based on international mechanisms protecting state sovereignty and international law-essential for global peace and security.
Additionally, President El Ghazouani highlighted the role of the international community, especially the UN Security Council, in ensuring adherence to international norms. He emphasized the importance of addressing the Palestinian issue, which he believes is central to achieving sustainable stability and peace.
In closing, President El Ghazouani called for unity among Arab and Muslim nations to protect their interests and security, preventing any threats to their stability.
