Doha: Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said that her government is working to strengthen security coordination with the United States, a day after US President Donald Trump said he wanted to launch ground strikes against drug cartels, particularly Mexican ones. Sheinbaum emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two nations in addressing security concerns.

According to Qatar News Agency, Sheinbaum has instructed the country's Secretary of State to directly contact his US counterpart to work on security coordination. This move is part of a broader effort to address the challenges posed by drug cartels and enhance bilateral relations in the area of security.
