Damascus, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, met Monday a Libyan parliamentary delegation headed by Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan House of Representatives, Youssef Al-Aqouri. The two sides reviewed bilateral relations, reiterating their condemnation of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, and affirming in this regard their full support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian resistance in the face of the Zionist brutal attacks. Minister Mikdad stressed Syria's full support for the unity, independence and sovereignty of Libya, indicating the depth and strength of the fraternal ties linking the two peoples. He also stressed the necessity of strengthening joint Arab action to confront the various challenges facing the region. Mikdad attached great importance to role of parliamentary work in strengthening friendship between the two peoples of the states and contributing to the development of bilateral relations i n all fields. Al-Aqouri, in turn, stressed the need to condemn the Zionist attacks on Syria and reject external interference in its internal affairs, hailing its steadfastness in fighting terrorism on behalf of the whole world.
