Cairo, SANA- Caretaker Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, met on Tuesday with a number of Arab foreign ministers on the sidelines of his participation in the works of the 162nd session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level. Mikdad discussed with the newly-appointed Tunisian Foreign Minister, Mohamed Ali Nafti, bilateral relations between Syria and Tunisia, and the Arab issues discussed in the ministerial meeting. Mikdad congratulated the Tunisian Minister on assuming his new post. Mikdad hailed the distinguished historical relations between the two brotherly countries, which were stressed by leaders of the two countries, President Bashar al-Assad and Tunisian President Kais Saied, calling for implementing their directives in activating relations between the two countries and enhancing them at various levels. In this regard, Mikdad also discussed with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Al-Safadi, a group of bilateral issues, cooperation and coordination regarding the two countries, with the two ministers affirming their keenness to pursue consultation and coordination in a way that reflects positively on the two brotherly countries. In the same context, Mikdad discussed with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib aspects of existing cooperation and coordination between the two countries regarding issues of common interest. The two ministers also tackled the dangerous developments in the region, in light of the attempts of the Israeli occupation entity to expand its attacks on Syrian and Lebanese territories. The talks also dealt with the necessity of coordinating efforts between both sides to mobilize the necessary support for the two countries at the United Nations and other international platforms with the aim of condemning these attacks and putting an end to them.
