Damascus, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, made a telephone call with Mr. Samir Rifai, Ambassador of Palestine in Damascus, offering condolences on behalf of Syria on the demise of Palestinian resistant Faruq al-Qaddumi. Mikdad praised the career of late Qaddoumi who has long represented the Palestinian people's aspirations for liberation from the Zionist occupation. 'The deceased has believed in the strategy of the Syrian-Palestinian relation to fulfill struggle against the Israeli occupation of Arab lands,' Mikdad said. He asked Mr. Rifai to convey his condolences to the family of late Qaddoumi and to the Palestinian leadership. Qaddoumi was a Palestinian struggler who has served as chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization's political department. Source: Syrian Arab News Agency
