Doha: He Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater met with several Arab education ministers on the sidelines of the ALECSO 14th Conference of Arab Ministers of Education in Doha. These meetings aimed to reinforce educational cooperation and discuss common interests with Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Palestine, Tunisia, and Mauritania.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Al Khater emphasized Qatar's supportive stance towards Lebanon during her meeting with HE Dr. Abbas Al Halabi, Minister of Education and Higher Education of the Lebanese Republic. The discussions focused on collaboration in training and development. In a separate meeting with HE Mohamed Abdel Latif, Egypt's Minister of Education and Technical Education, the two officials explored cooperation in education, expertise exchange, and the enhancement of Arabic language and social sciences.
Her Excellency also engaged with HE Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, Jordan's Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, to discuss educational and scientific research collaboration and other mutual interests. In talks with HE Dr. Tariq Salem Saleh Al Akbari from Yemen, discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in research, education, higher education, and educational grants.
HE Al Khater reiterated Qatar's support for Palestine during a meeting with HE Dr. Amjad Barham, Minister of Education and Higher Education in Palestine. The meeting reviewed developments in Palestinian education, with a focus on Gaza, and considered supporting educational facilities.
Further discussions with HE Dr. Noureddine Nouri from Tunisia and HE Hoda Baba from Mauritania focused on bilateral cooperation and mutual interests in education reform and development. These meetings underscore Qatar's commitment to fostering educational ties with Arab nations.
