Doha: HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi announced the launch of the Rawda Award for Excellence in Social Work, marking it as a significant strategic step to bolster the nation's commitment to social work. This initiative aims to enhance awareness of community cooperation and service across all sectors in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.
According to Qatar News Agency, the minister emphasized that the award serves not merely as a recognition but as an inspiring platform to energize sustainable social initiatives. The award is designed to reflect Qatari society's longstanding values of solidarity and giving, aiming to instill these principles in future generations. Her Excellency highlighted the necessity of supporting pioneering social projects from both individuals and institutions to foster a more inclusive and prosperous future.
Details regarding the award's application process will be announced soon, with a focus on a transparent evaluation mechanism adhering to international standards. This approach ensures that projects creating tangible and lasting impacts receive due acknowledgment. The minister encouraged participation from all societal segments, stressing how every contribution can significantly impact community development.
Her Excellency expressed her aspiration for the award to serve as a catalyst for innovation in community service and to promote giving and social responsibility values in Qatar. The Rawda Award is a national initiative aimed at embedding a culture of social work, encouraging competition in community service among public and private sectors, and recognizing outstanding contributions aligned with the social development goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
The award comprises five categories, targeting individuals, families, non-profit organizations, the private sector, and media. It encompasses three levels: the Rawda Award, the Shield of Excellence in Social Work, and a Certificate of Appreciation.
Following the Amiri Decision issued today, a committee named the Rawda Award for Excellence in Social Work Trustees Committee will be established within the Ministry of Social Development and Family. Chaired by the Minister, the committee will include representatives from various ministries and governmental bodies, as well as experts in the award's programs, all appointed by the minister. Each entity will nominate a representative with a position no less than department director or equivalent.
