Minister of Sports and Youth Celebrates 11 Young Winners of Parenting Research Competition.

Doha: HE Minister of Sports and Youth Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani honored the winners of the second edition of the research competition organized by the ministry, focusing on the role of parents in raising children and its impact on their social and emotional development. The competition attracted approximately 50 contestants, resulting in 11 young participants being recognized as winners. According to Qatar News Agency, the competition is part of the ministry's initiative to promote scientific research among youth and to establish a specialized information base on youth issues and studies. This initiative aims to provide scientific studies, resources, and research content that address contemporary youth interests, issues, and challenges in various political, economic, and social fields, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of these matters from the youth perspective in the context of a changing environment. In the first category (ages 15 to 19), Fatima Saad Al Mohannadi secured first pl ace, followed by Nouf Khamis Al Marri in second place, and Zakaria Ahmed Al Janahi in third. In the second category (ages 20 to 39), Ahmed Ismail Al Kubaisi took first place, with Reem Rashid Al Hajri and Fatima Saleh Al Marri taking second and third places, respectively. In the third category for postgraduate students at the master's and doctoral levels, the first prize was withheld. However, Maryam Mubarak Hamdan Al Arabid won second place, and Noora Mohammed Ali Mohammed came in third. Maha Issa Al Rumaihi, Director of the Planning, Quality, and Innovation Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, stated that the second edition of the competition is part of a series of research competitions organized by the department. These competitions are within the strategic projects of the Ministry, aimed at raising youth awareness and broadening their understanding of issues concerning their community. Al Rumaihi explained that the competition sparked interest in scientific research among young people and wit nessed significant participation in both its first and second editions, resulting in high-quality research. The competition has become an important platform for youth to present their pioneering research. The recognition by the Minister of Sports and Youth of the competition winners is significant, as it supports and motivates young people to continue contributing valuable work, thereby enhancing awareness of the importance of scientific research among youth in Qatar. She noted that the participants' research was evaluated in a transparent and professional environment, with a committee formed to assess the research based on specific objective criteria, ultimately selecting the winning research from the 50 submissions received.
