Doha: HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi met with HE Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Dr. Kao Kim Hourn on Thursday. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the event celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, held in Manila, the Philippines.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions between the officials focused on the cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and ASEAN, exploring ways to support and enhance these ties. They also addressed a range of issues of mutual interest.
HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs conveyed Qatar's appreciation for the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' decision to grant Qatar the status of Sectoral Dialogue Partner during their meeting in Manila on July 21. His Excellency emphasized that this decision marks a significant step forward in Qatar's relationship with ASEAN, paving the way for expanded collaboration in political, economic, and developmental arenas, and aiding in regional security and stability.
