Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) hosted a group of patent examiners specializing in patent applications, in cooperation with the Patent Office at the Secretariat General for Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC). According to Qatar News Agency, this visit is part of efforts to strengthen Gulf cooperation and share expertise in intellectual property. It aims to develop the intellectual property protection system in Qatar and enhance the efficiency of technical personnel in patent examination, aligning with international practices and supporting innovation and research. The visit featured specialized workshops attended by staff from the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Department and the GCC Patent Office team. These workshops enabled the exchange of expertise, discussions on the latest patent examination methods, and a review of recent developments in the field. The Ministry emphasized that these initiatives demonstrate its commitment to enhancing Gulf cooperatio n in intellectual property, supporting innovation and research, and consolidating Qatar's position as a leading regional center for intellectual property rights protection.
