Doha: May 10 - The Ministry of Culture on Friday organized a symposium on the journey and career of the late Dr. Rabia Sabah Al-Kuwari at the main theater of the 33rd session of the Doha International Book Fair (DIBF). The symposium was attended by HE Minister of Culture, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani and a lineup of officials, academics and researchers spoke in it. It was moderated by writer Abdullah Hayy Al Sulaiti, who began by mentioning the bright biography of the deceased and his great contributions in the fields of journalism, media and culture, indicating that this symposium represents appreciation and gratitude for his prominent and influential personality. HE Minister of State and President of the Qatar National Library Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, said that Dr. Rabia was a prominent figure in education, culture and media, pointing out that his works represent references and sources of knowledge across generations. For his part, HE Chairperson of the Qatar Press Center Saad bin Mo hammed Al Rumaihi, pointed out that Dr. Rabia Al Kuwari instilled his love in the souls of people through distinguished giving, and left an influential mark on the journalistic and cultural scene. Al Rumaihi, who previously founded and was editor-in-chief of the Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq, worked as director of Qatar TV, and editor-in-chief of the Qatari newspaper Al-Raya, reviewed the role of the deceased in supporting and assisting him in these important stations, and his distinguished contribution to these institutions.
