Umm Salal: The Iraqi cultural week will launch at Darb Al-Saai in Umm Salal on Thursday, the Ministry of Culture announced. The four-day event is part of reinforcing the cultural cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Iraq. It features numerous activities that showcase the rich and diverse Iraqi cultural legacy.
According to Qatar News Agency, the event offers a cultural experience for the public to interact with the Iraqi heritage through several art and theatrical shows, as well as fine art and traditional crafts. An elite group of Iraqi craftsmen and specialists in arts and heritage will engage with the visitors, highlighting the diverse Iraqi cultures and fostering intercultural dialogue.
Director of the Department of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Culture, Abdulrahman Al Dulaimi, stated that the event is part of the efforts to enhance cultural diplomacy, exploring the fusion of Iraq's inveterate legacy with contemporary innovation. He emphasized that the event reflects the strength of cultural ties between Qatar and Iraq and the ministry's commitment to nurturing the domestic cultural scene.
Al Dulaimi added that the ministry aims to provide an integrated cultural experience through this event, spotlighting the authenticity of Iraqi arts. He noted that culture serves as a bridge of communication among peoples, fostering common understanding and building more profound cultural ties.
