Rabat: The Ministry of Culture is participating in the 30th Rabat International Book Fair, organized by the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication. The Ministry is showcasing a selection of its own publications, along with those of four Qatari publishing houses, in its pavilion. This effort is part of its initiative to support Qatari publishers and provide them with opportunities to present their work at international cultural forums.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Culture emphasized its commitment to participating in international book fairs, recognizing them as vital platforms for presenting Qatari intellectual production to a broad readership. The Ministry seeks to highlight the ongoing development of the country's publishing industry, foster cultural partnerships, and enhance cooperation with specialists in culture and publishing.
Director of Libraries and Doha International Book Fair Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain stated that the participation aims to highlight aspects of Qatari literature and culture. The pavilion features the Ministry's new publications across various fields, including novels, law, and social and human sciences, along with distinguished children's and young adult books. The Ministry's goal is also to build new relationships within the cultural and publishing sectors and showcase the intellectual output of Qatari publishing houses.
The 30th Rabat International Book Fair, held from April 18 to 27, hosts 756 publishers, including 292 direct publishers and 464 representative exhibitors from 51 countries. This year, the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates is the guest of honor, with the fair offering over 100,000 titles across all fields of knowledge and literary genres.
