Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), represented by the Wildlife Protection Department, has carried out comprehensive inspection campaigns throughout April, targeting all winter camping areas across the country. This initiative is part of MECC's ongoing efforts to preserve and sustain the environment.
According to Qatar News Agency, the campaigns, which coincide with the conclusion of the winter camping season, focused on the northern, central, and southern regions. The main objectives were to ensure the cleanliness of camping sites, protect local ecosystems, and verify the absence of any environmental violations.
Hamad Salem Al Nuaimi, Director of the Wildlife Protection Department and Chairman of the Winter Camping Affairs Organization Committee at MECC, highlighted that the campaigns are designed to balance the enjoyment of camping activities with the need to safeguard the environment. He urged campers to adhere strictly to environmental guidelines.
Al Nuaimi further stated that the Ministry's efforts are directed towards promoting environmental awareness and ensuring campers vacate their sites in a manner that preserves natural resources. He emphasized that collaboration with relevant authorities is crucial for the successful management of the camping season.
These inspection campaigns are part of a broader set of regulatory measures and awareness activities undertaken by the Ministry to protect Qatar's environment and its rich biodiversity.
